On the edge of the attractive village of Santo Estevão, within walking distance of all amenities, is this two-bedroom house surrounded by its own garden. The mature trees (carob, olive and citrus) provide the house with privacy and shelter from the sun, and two terraces on ground level and one on the roof offer space to sit out in the sun or the shade, as you wish.

The main decorative element of the house are traditional Portuguese tiles, both on the outside and in the interior. The house is set back from the village road. To the left is a carport with space for two cars and, behind that, a garage. The main entrance of the house has a porch large enough for a couple of armchairs.

The layout of the interior is straightforward: The front part of the hallway has two bedrooms to the left and the living room and kitchen to the right. The living room is very bright thanks to windows on two sides, and it has an open fireplace to give warmth in winter. The rear part of the hallway leads to the bathroom and a separate toilet before opening out again to a sheltered terrace at the rear of the house. This terrace could easily be closed off to make a conservatory or another bedroom.
The kitchen is fully fitted, though the new owners may wish to update it. Just outside the kitchen, on the east side of the house, is a beautiful tiled veranda with plenty of space to sit out and enjoy the pleasant climate of the Algarve at all times of the year.

Stairs at the rear of the house lead up to a large roof terrace which the current owners have covered with tarpaulin to provide some shade. The terrace has views of the garden, the village and partial views of the sea.

The house offers plenty of storage: three dry, clean attic storage rooms off the roof terrace, a garage, and a storage room next to the garage. There is also a laundry room off the rear terrace.
Rain water is collected in a cistern and used for the auto irrigation system.

Houses in Santo Estevão are very sought after and apart from being very picturesque, the village offers all amenities and services like cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, post office, hairdresser, hardware shop, a pharmacy and a health centre. It is also just a short drive away from Tavira and the beach of Barril.
