The main entrance of this attractive two-storey detached villa opens to a hallway with a guest cloakroom and the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom to one side and the study/4th bedroom to the other. The hallway leads to a large open-plan dining and living area (41m²), with its dramatic double-height, vaulted timber ceiling and gallery above.
A feature archway opens into a spacious fully fitted kitchen area. Double patio doors open to a south-facing terrace and the large heated pool with its electric pool cover. The partly shaded pool terrace is ideal for al fresco dining. The private pool and gardens are surrounded by tall hedges, which border an area of rustic land behind. Stairs ascend from the hallway to the upper level accommodation comprising two double bedrooms with shower rooms, plus a gallery (16m².) overlooking the living area. The gallery and one of the bedrooms have access to a large roof terrace (19m²), while the other bedroom has its own small south-facing roof terrace.
The design specification for the central heating system was to heat all areas of the house to 21ºC when the external temperature is 0ºC. This is a higher specification than in the UK, where daytime living areas only need to be at 21ºC when the outside temperature is 0ºC. Bedrooms in the UK average 18ºC.
With no energy input, the villa naturally remains at a constant temperature over the 24hr cycle, when external temperatures can vary by 15ºC or more. The temperature inside the villa will not fall below the average daily temperature for the time of year.
The villa is located in the resort community of AlmaVerde at the gateway to the vast and relatively undiscovered Costa Vicentina Natural Park, with its rugged coastline and golden beaches. This peaceful, rustic setting is still only 10km from the marina, colourful markets and vibrant nightlife of cosmopolitan Lagos.
