Carnival is an "ancestral and important tradition" in the municipality of Lagos, as a cultural and recreational event, with Clube Desportivo de Odiáxere, the only cultural agent in the municipality that continues to keep this celebration alive, increasing its dimension and attracting an increasing number of visitors. At the same time, there are several groups that also contribute to preserve the tradition, organizing the lively Carnival balls.
