This edition of the Orange XXI Conference took place, providing «a space for debate and reflection on the issues that currently concern citrus growers and pose challenges to this sector».
These included presentations from AlgarOrange, the SEF delegation in Portimão, and Anabela Assunção Cordeiro, professor at the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School. Luís Neto, from the University of Algarve and Paulo Cruz, from APA-ARH spoke about the “Possible effects of climate change on citrus pests” and “Water Resources Management in the Algarve - Water Use in Agriculture” respectively whilst José Carlos Tomás, from DRAP Algarve, addressed the theme of “Irrigation for citrus fruit in decline”.
Highlighted in another edition of this show that promotes the Silves Capital da Laranja brand, the “Orange Cocktail Festival 2020”. Also noteworthy is the well-known and usual Valentine's march, a sports activity that is part of the Algarve's calendar and was also part of the event's program.
The event had the partnership of DRAPAlg, UALG, RTA, the Silves School Group and the Silves-South School Group.
